Physicals and Varicella

Who needs a physical?

New York State has revised it's requirements for school age children.

All kindergarten, level 2, 4 and new students to the district are required to have an up to date physical on file in the Health Office. New York State will recognize the physical for one year. If your child had a physical on or after August 28, 2005: they do not need another physical. Physical forms can be obtained through the web site or have the personal care physician send their own form.

Varicella or Chicken Pox

As of January 1, 2005, Public Health Law Section 2164 was amended to require:

  • Students born on or after January 1, 1994, and who enroll in the 6th grade at the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year must be immunized against varicella.
